“Snow, Soap & Stuffing: A Maker’s Week Before the Holidays” 🌨🧼🦃
They’re even calling for snow this week, so it’s officially starting to look (and feel) a lot like Christmas.
Over at the studio, this is a heavy manufacturing week, and I’m in full maker mode. On the to-do list:
-
Lip Balm
-
Tallow Crème
-
Marula Face Crème
-
Magnesium Spray
-
Peppermint Laundry Soap
Basically, if it’s moisturizing, soothing, or smells amazing, it’s getting made this week.
In the middle of all that, I’m also slipping into holiday kitchen mode. I’m picking up our turkey from our local Natural Grocers and making an aromatic brine before roasting. Fresh rosemary and ginger? Yes, please. If you’ve never brined a turkey, it really does make a big difference in how juicy and flavorful it turns out.
I’m also making a simple Cranberry Salad my mom used to make when I was growing up. She had an old-fashioned grinder that clamped onto the counter, and she’d run fresh cranberries, orange, and cinnamon through it. They call it a relish, but in our house it’s always been salad. Cranberries and turkey just belong together—are they secretly married?
This weekend kicks off the official hustle:
-
White Friday (still wondering how it ever became Black Friday)
-
Small Business Saturday
-
And then we roll right into the busiest, most magical time of year for Bittersweet.
We’ve also got some really exciting news on the horizon, but I’m tucking that away for just a few more weeks before I spill the beans.
In between batches of soap and skincare, I raked up what felt like a million ginkgo leaves—filled the bin and bags to the brim. I’m painting the studio, puttering around the house, and doing my best to keep up with supply and demand at the shop.
Wherever you are and whatever your week looks like, I hope you land in a peaceful, grateful Thanksgiving. 🦃🍂💛
